M'lore: Public Awareness Meet on Mulgeni System Cancellation on Oct 26

Mangalore, Oct 23: The president and executive committee members of Mulgeni Tenants Welfare Forum have informed that a public awareness meet on the implementation of the cancellation of Mulgeni System Act pertaining to the non-agricultural land falling within urban areas, will be held at 3 pm  on Sunday October 26, at the SDM Law College auditorium.

The Forum, while expressing its resentment about the non-implementation of the long-pending Mulgeni system Cancellation act in respect of the above lands, wants to put an end to the burning problem to find a lasting solution. The above meet will be presided over the ex-revenue minister V Somashekhar, during whose tenure; efforts were made to solve the said problem. Retired High Court judge Justice M F Saldanha, Mangalore north MLA N Yogish Bhat and Bantwal mLA B Ramanath Rai will participate as guests, the Forum has said.

It has requested all the Mulgeni tenants to participate in the meet in large numbers and extend wholehearted support to the Forum towards finding a permanent solution to this burning issue, so that the next generation does not inherit this problem.

    This is a long pending problem. Please take initiative to cancell the mulgeni system early.
