No Heroines for Vivek Oberoi?

Mumbai, Sep 27: The guy’s not bad looking. On top of it he can act as well. Yet there seems to be a dearth of heroines for Vivek Oberoi .

The Taurani bros of TIPS have signed Vivek for their next movie. But they haven’t been able to get an established actress to be Vivek’s leading lady. Moreover, like the Taurani’s last hit Race , this movie, too, will have three heroines.

It is believed the producers have approached the likes of Bipasha Basu and Katrina Kaif for the film. While Bipasha turned down the offer for undisclosed reasons, Katrina refused the movie because she understandably doesn’t want to pair up with Vivek due to his longtime enmity with her beau Salman Khan .

Having run out of options, the producers are now rumoured to be taking the obvious route – roping in newcomers.

Grapevine has it that three NRI girls will make their debut in the film, though this development is yet to be confirmed by the Tauranis.

Meanwhile, Vivek’s troubles seem to be far from over. He may have decided to rid self of all controversies, but controversies don’t seem to leave him. Not liked by many in the industry because of his “attitude”, Vivek made a fresh foe out of Sunil Shetty and Apoorva Lakhia recently when he refused to promote ‘Mission Istanbul’, which proved a turkey at the box-office.

And now, the scarcity of leading ladies opposite him could spell further trouble for his career. After all, was it just a co-incidence that in his two last releases – Shootout At Lokhandwala and Mission Istanbul – there was no heroine opposite Vivek.

Food for thought?
