Beijing, Aug 20: Indian challenge ended in the table tennis event at the Beijing Olympics after Achantha Sharath Kamal surrendered 1-4 to Austria's Chen Weixing in the second round of the men's singles on Wednesday.

The Chennai paddler struggled to get his rhythm and was outplayed 5-11, 12-14, 2-11, 11-8, 10-12 by his Austrian opponent.

Chen played an attacking game and the Indian wilted under pressure, failing to get his placement right.

The Indian, undone by his unforced errors, could manage to win just one game in the match, which lasted 32 minutes.

Neha Aggarwal had lost her first round match in the women's singles on Monday.
