Udupi, Aug 7: Members of the Tulu drama troupe 'Pirki Bittil', and GRK Cultural Forum, will be staging 'Pratibha Shodha', on Sunday August 10, at Sri Krishna Math Rajangan auditorium, to mark India's Independence Day. The programme will be graced by Paryaya Puttige Sri Sugunendrateerta Swamiji of Sri Krishna Math.

'Pirki Bittil', a Tulu serial, is telecast by coastal channel 'Namma TV' on Fridays at 7.30 pm. The serial has been a remarkable success owing to the patronage of a large number of viewers. It has already completed 35 episodes and is aiming for a hundred.

The first ever Tulu serial to reach such heights, it deals with lust, anger, greed, love, ego, and jealousy, that exist in every human being. Though we try to these emotions in check, calculations go awry at times, and the suffering that follows is aptly depicted in this serial.  Despite initial setbacks, the serial has gained popularity and is surging ahead with the support of Namma TV and loyal viewers.

'Namma Swatantrada Madilalli Ondu Sanje', an evening programme to commemorate Independence Day will also be staged under the aegis of Shiroor Math and in association with Lions Club Parkala, on Friday, August 15, by 'Pirki Bittil' Tulu dramatist and artistes of GRK Cultural Forum.

Subramanya Holla, Maheshmurthy, Radhakrishna Shettigar, Suresh Prabhu of Lions Club Parkala, and Sapna Suresh, were present at the press conference.
