Mumbai, Aug 6: Lawrence D' Souza Kamani was elected the new president of Mangalorean Welfare Association (MWA), during the annual general body meeting which was held recently at the association office in Kirol, Vidhyavihar (West).

The meeting was chaired by president Stanley Saldanha. Vincent Castelino, general secretary, read the minutes of the last meeting following which the election for the managing committee was held.

Besides Kamani, Robert L D'Cunha (vice-president), Vincent Castellino (secretary), and Robert Quadros (treasurer), were also elected unanimously. Everest Fernandes, Stanly Saldanha, Victor Concesso, Baptist D’Souza, Jessy Fernandes and Gracy Joseph, were elected as committee members.

Leo Fernandes Jerimeri was appointed internal auditor. The outgoing president welcomed the gathering while the new president proposed the vote of thanks. Note books were distributed to the children of members on the occasion.
