Mangalore: Manasa M Bags First Place in District Level Science Seminar

Mangalore, Aug 3: Manasa M, a student of Indraprasta High School, located at Uppinangady, bagged the first price in the Dakshina Kannada (DK) district level high school science seminar, which was held on Saturday August 2, at Nazareth auditorium of Holy Family Girls’ High School, Bajpe, near here.

The science seminar was organized at the aegis of DK zilla panchayat, public instruction department, office of district deputy director of studies and Holy Family Girls’ High School.

Saisuma, a student of Holy Family Girls’ High School, Bajpe and Namrata M A, a student of Victoria Girls’ High School, Lady Hill, bagged the second prize and third prize respectively.

Sridar Adiga, lecturer of Benjanpadav Government Pre-University College, was the juror of seminar, speaking at the concluding ceremony, said that these kinds of programmes are helpful in creating interest on science among the students, at this competitive age.

Environmental expert Dr Jagdish of Mulky, Alvas College bio-chemistry department lecturer Dr Ram Bhat, Holy Family Girls’ High School convener Sr Christella B S, head teacher Sr Violet B S were also present.

Teacher Sukanya welcomed the gathering while Mabel Britto proposed vote of thanks.
