M'lore: PF System All Set to Enter the Age of Computerization

The process of computerizing the Provident Fund (PF) system is in progress so as to ensure prompt and speedy services, said Rajashekar Hegde, PF Mangalore zonal commissioner.
 
He was speaking at the inaugural of a seminar on ‘EPF and PF Act 1952’ which was organized in association with the Productivity Council, Chennai and PF authority, here on Thursday, July 24.
 
The process of computerizing the records is underway with the assistance of National Informatic Center (NIC) and once completed, it will facilitate fast redressal of grievances, petitions, and other requests of the PF holder, explained Hegde.
 
A kiosk has been set up at the city office of PF located at Bhavishya Nidhi Nilaya, for the benefit of PF holders and to provide them necessary information related to their accounts, he informed. The union government has prepared a scheme to enable the physically handicapped to secure jobs in the private sector, said Hegde.
 
P Jayaram Hande, general manager, Karnataka Bank, said in his presidential address that PF provides social security to employees. Bhaskaran and Kumarappa were the resource persons who provided information on PF.
 
B Ganesh, deputy director, National Productivity Council, Chennai, welcomed the gathering while U Rama Rao, president, Mangalore Productivity Council, compered the event.
