Udupi, Jul 2: Atul, who was admitted to Kasturba Medical College Hospital in Manipal for treatment of asthma, was discharged from the hospital on the evening of Tuesday, July 1. He has been lodged in the subjail behind the taluk office here.
Manipal police station inspector and the case investigating officer B G Achar informed, that neither the post mortem report nor inquest has been received from New Delhi in connection with this case. A reminder will be sent to the authorities after waiting for a few days more in this connection, he said.
The judicial custody of Atul will come to an end on July 9 and a bail application filed by him is also is slated to be taken up on that day. Senior advocate from Mangalore Purushotham Poojari will represent Atul in the case while public prosecutor J I Kittur will represent the state.
