Mumbai, Jun 29: International Diamond Laboratories (IDL), an initiative by the Dubai government, launched its jewellery certification service at a glittering function organized by ‘Filmfare’ held at a suburban hotel in the metro, recently.
On the occasion, gorgeous actress Katrina Kaif was gifted the first IDL certified diamond ring in India titled ‘Romance’. Kaif was the proud recipient of a state-of-the-art lab graded and certified piece of diamond jewellery in the country. The ring she received was adorned with sparkling pear-shaped diamonds.
All IDL jewellery carries with it a certificate providing a description of the piece. It comprises the identification, weight, and precious metals used besides listing the number of diamonds and precious stones, their natural character, as well as their shape and measurements, clarity, color and finish. The jewelry certificates also contains an enlarged high quality color photograph of the particular piece.
The certificates come in three different sizes— a luxurious pack, accompanying large pieces and sets; a compact certificate for single pieces; and a credit card size authenticity report.
‘An independent third party analysis of diamond jewelry supports consumer confidence and helps retailers diversify their offer of branded and non-branded jewelry items,’ said Peter Meeus, CEO of IDL.
