Mumbai, Jun 27:
Former PM and JDS supremo H D Deve Gowda was in the metro recently for a health check up at Leelavati Hospital, Bandra (West).

Gowda also offered pooja at Sri Siddi Vinayaka temple, Prabhadevi where he was accorded a grand welcome and honoured  with a memento and ‘prasadam’.  Sri Siddi Vinayaka Ganapati temple trust treasurer Nirmala Samanth Prabhavalkar, trustee Satish Jayaram Padve, chairman of Jayalaxmi Co-Operative Credit Society, Andheri, Narayan R Gowda, Tilakraj Ballal, and proprietor of  Sri Siddi Vinayaka Refreshment,  Devdas Shetty were amongst those present.

When asked his views on the Congress demand for CBI probe into the mysterious death of Padmapriya, he replied that it was a private, family matter on which he would not comment.  Media persons were not willing to let Gowda off easily and asked him whether his party was attempting to form an alliance in view of the recent political developments in Bangalore.  He countered that it was just an illusion and the party was undecided on the future course of action.  However, he would act as per the changing times, he added.

Gowda refused to take further questions citing the sanctity of the temple and instead invited the media to Bangalore before leaving for his flight back home.
