Indore, Jun 24: Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan on Sunday said politics is not his cup of tea.

“I know acting and therefore I am an actor. Politics is not my cup of tea,” the film icon who represented Allahabad seat in the Lok Sabha for a brief term in the 80s told reporters here.

When asked about soaring prices and inflation, Bachchan said he is neither a Prime Minister nor a Finance Minister and it would be better if the question was put to them.

The actor who paired up with Rekha in many of his yesteryear hits said he would not mind working again with the actress if a suitable role came his way.

The actor was here to promote Sarkar Raj, his latest film directed by Ram Gopal Verma.

Though denying that his character in the film is inspired by the lifestyle of Shiv Sena supremo Bala Saheb Thackeray, Bachchan said he wanted to show the film to him but it was not possible due to the latter's illness.

“Yes, I do want to show this latest Ram Gopal Verma film to Thackeray, but it is not possible due to his health problems,” he said.
