Mangalore, Jun 21: Taranath, brother-in-law of Swamilpadav Shivaram and Ravi from Belthangady, were reportedly abducted from Swamilpadav on Friday June 20. Unidentified persons who arrived in a green Tavera vehicle, suddenly approached these two people, dragged the duo inside their vehicle and fled.

It is learnt, that the last call from Taranath's mobile phone was made to a person named Ravi Gowda. However, Ravi Gowda 's mobile has been switched off, which has created a suspicion that he might have been behind this abduction. Sources said that Taranath used to lend money on interest but reasons for the abduction are not known.

Eyewitnesses said, that a motor bike too followed the Tavera after the abduction. The vehicle moved towards Bhatrakere, a little distance from Swamilpadav and then came back before speeding towards the city. Although the Bajpe police station was immediately contacted, they arrived late, to the advantage of abductors, it is stated. Some even said that one of the abductors had a pistol.

Seetha, wife of Taranath has registered a complaint in Bajpe police station in this connection. Bajpe police are investigating.
