Mangaluru, Sep 16: Ujwal D'Souza, director of operations of Marian Projects Pvt Ltd, on Friday, September 15, was felicitated with Anantha Mitra Kalabhavi Award by Association of Consulting Civil Engineering India(ACCEI).
Ujwal received the award at the Engineers Day celebrations and Techno Week programme at St Sebastian Church hall Bendur.
Prabhakar Rao, director of works, MCF Ltd Mangaluru, Jayakumar , vice president, Marketing, Ramco Cements Ltd , Vijaya Vishnu Mayya, vice president, ACCEI, South, and Anil Sebastian D'Souza, chairman, ACCEI, Mangaluru, handed over the award to Ujwal.
Hailing Ujwal's contributions to the world of Civil Engineering, Vijaya Vishnu Mayya said "Ujwal has been engaged in the field of Civil Engineering for the last 25 years. He has worked for leading construction projects in South India. With his Marian Projects Pvt Ltd, he has given a new shape to Civil Engineering in Mangaluru and areas surrounding it. He always takes interest in innovation and is a big asset to the engineers' family. Within this family, he is known to have the utmost capacity for technical details and management. Besides, he is a good human being and always has concern for the society. I congratulate him on behalf of ACCEI."
On receiving the award, Ujwal said, "I am dedicating this award to my family and to the staff of Marian. I would not have achieved this without them. I thank ACCEI and all others associated with my profession. The award gives me more responsibility towards my profession."
On the occasion, Noel F C Pinto of NJ Builders and Promoters and Yashawanta Rai of Classic Consultancies received the 'Eminent Engineer' awards.
