Mangaluru: Ravi Basrur to compose background score for Tulu film ‘Umil’

Mangaluru, Aug 1: Leading music composer from Sandalwood, Ravi Basrur is back to Coastalwood. Ravi will compose the background score for the upcoming Tulu film ‘Umil’.

The well-known music director had earlier composed music for the Tulu hit ‘Ekka Sakka’. He had previously worked in Kannada movies like Uggram, Rathavara, and Mufti. He is also busy with big budget films like the Yash starrer ‘KGF’ and Punith Rajkumar starrer Anjani Putra.

With hands full with various projects, Ravi will compose the background score for Ranjith Suvarna’s directorial ‘Umil’.

“I always wanted Ravi Basrur to compose the music. He is very busy, but likes Tulu films. He had earlier worked on ‘Ekka Sakka’, so I requested him to work on ‘Umil’. He readily agreed. He liked our team which is full of youngsters,” says Ranjith.

Auditions for the second lead actress for ‘Umil’ were held on July 30. The shooting will begin on September 3. The makers of the film intend to shoot for a month without a break.
