M’lore: CPI (M) National Leader Brinda Karat to Visit City on May 5

Mangalore, May 5: As most of the major political parties are gearing up for the forthcoming state assembly elections, CPI (M) is also doing its best to make its presence felt in the state. It has also taken assembly elections seriously this time in Dakshina Kannada. CPI (M) national leader and politburo member Brinda Karat will be visiting the district, in order to join in the poll campaign on Tuesday May 5.

She will be addressing a public meeting at Kulal Mandir at Kolya located in the limits of Ullal station at 12.00 noon on Tuesday May 6. CPI (M) has fielded two candidates in the district this time. She will be campaigning on behalf of Yadav Shetty who is contesting for Mangalore constituency.

She has been voicing for women related issues in Rajyasabha for decades. Her proposed visit to Ullal has created sensation among women in Mangalore constituency. Meanwhile, CPI (M) activists and women wing of party have been working hard to make Karat’s programme successful.

Kodiyeri visit:

On the other hand, Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, home minister of Kerala will be visiting the city on Tuesday. Recently, he was elected as politburo member of the party.

Kodiyeri will be addressing the public meeting at Don Bosco Hall, on behalf of Mangalore South constituency candidate Yashwant Maroli. Malayali organizations in the city have expressed their pleasure on the visit of Kodiyeri.
