Mangaluru: St Ann’s College observes International Yoga Day

Mangaluru, Jun 23: Third International Yoga Day was celebrated at St Ann’s College of Education (Autonomous), Mangaluru, June 21.

The event began with the invocation of God's blessings followed by lighting of the the diya by principal, Dr Sr M Clare AC. Along with physical director Suresh Kumar T, a group of hundred BEd student teachers and faculty performed yoga.

Student president Anna Una Crasta gave the highlights of International Yoga Day. The student teachers enthusiastically performed various asanas like Suryanamaskara, Pranayama, Pavanamukthasana, Bhujangasana, Ustrasana, Vrukshasana etc. The significance of each asana and its benefits were made known to the students.


    










Principal Dr Sr M Clare AC expressed that Yoga is an integral part of the entire being. She also added that Yoga has to be practised everyday in order to enjoy good mental health and the spiritual aspect of Yoga was stressed in her address. Vilma D’Souza compered the programme.
