Entertaining 'Mhataro Chorbela' Steals Show at Mazgaon

Mumbai, Apr 14: The 30th annual celebration of Canarites Youth Association of was held at Mazgaon St Marys’ Auditorium on Sunday April 13.

Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy awardee and renowned dramatist Francis Fernandes Cascia was the chief guest of the occasion. He handed over the money collected for ‘Cancer Patients Fund’ to the organizers on the occasion.

Speaking on this occasion, Francis Fernandes Cascia said that, he entered into drama field in the same auditorium 40 years ago. The support extended by the Konkani people of Mumbai is unforgettable, he said.

Well-known Konkani dramatist and founder of the Association, Henry D’Silva Suratkal was present on this occasion.

Harry Sequeira introduced guests. Cynthia Joyce Monteiro proposed vote of thanks. Rons Bantwal compered the programme. ‘Mhataro Chorbela,’ written by Francis Fernandes Cascia and directed by Joy Paladka was staged on the occasion.  The play which is the new sensation in Konkani these days had the audience asking for more and kept them glued to their seat to the end.
