Mumbai: Now, Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi in Colour

Rediff

Mumbai, Mar 27: Following in the steps of Mughal-E-Azam and Naya Daur, the hilarious, black and white 1958 film, Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi, will also be re-released in colour. The film starred the Ganguli brothers - Ashok, Kishore and Anoop Kumar - as well as the beautiful Madhubala.

Sources inform Gullu that a top Mumbai-based film company has taken over the rights of the film and will begin work on it in April. It is expected to release next year.

When Mughal-E-Azam re-released in colour in 2004, the film surprised many trade analysts because of its phenomenon business. Unfortunately, Naya Daur's re-release did not enjoy as much success.

Lets hope the Madhubala charm works again in Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi.
