Mumbai, Mar 12: The Indian hockey team may not be going to the Olympics this year, but there is some consolation.
We have another group including actors Saif Ali Khan and sister Soha Ali Khan along with tennis player Leander Paes who will be bearing the Olympic torch on behalf of the Indian cause.
In all there will be six torchbearers from India who were nominated based on certain criteria and all of them have demonstrated innovation in their respective fields.
Paes has won an Olympic medal and is also expected to compete at Beijing as one of the country's medal prospects in the men's doubles. Saif and Soha are Lenovo brand ambassadors. Lenovo is the worldwide partner of the 2008 Olympic torch relay programme.
The Beijing 2008 Olympic Torch Rally will take place in New Delhi on April 17 where the torchbearers will heat things up.
