Kuwait: Over 16,000 Gather to Hear Dr Zakir Naik

Kuwait, Mar 3; World famous speaker on comparative religion Dr. Zakir Naik’s Public Lecture held on Friday , 29th February 2008 at Touristic Park Jleeb Al Shyoukh was attended by more than 16000 people from different faiths and nationalities. It turned out to be mega historic event in Kuwait, with huge participation from different segments of Kuwait Society.
The program was organized by Islam Presentation Committee with due emphasis to finest event management, in coordination with Indian Muslim Association (IMA) and Kerala Islamic Group (KIG), two large popular organizations in Kuwait.
Dr. Zakir Naik while speaking on the subject of ‘Concept of God in Major Religions’ quoted profoundly giving extensive extempore references from various scriptures a such as Quran, Bible, Vedas, Upanishads and scriptures from Sikhism, Zoroastrianism and Judaism.
He emphasized that concept of God in all major religions stipulate common attributes of God that ‘God is one, He is eternal and absolute, He has no images etc. However, in practice people deviated from the original teachings and ascribed wrong attributes to God. He further said among the available religious scriptures only Quran is available in its original and undistorted form which provides refuge for all truth seekers.
His Excellency M.Ganapathy Ambassador of India in Kuwait inaugurated the function. He said that speaking about religion is a dialogue. He further said fundamentalism is not wrong if it amounts to adhering to good fundamentals. He further said that major religions teach about lot of virtues for human beings. He applauded initiatives of Dr. Zakir Naik and Islam Presentation Committee in promoting fruitful dialogue between religious groups.
Dr. Mohammed Al Tabatabee, Dean of the college of Law in Kuwait University and Head of Projects Departments of IPC in his key note address said that promoting the message of truth and patience among people is the responsibility of Muslims.
Dr.Zakir Naik invited many questions mainly from non Muslim audience of the gathering and he gave convincing answers using logic and quoting references from the scriptures.
Jamaan Al Zahrani, Regional Manager of Peace TV in Saudi Arabia, Khalid Al Ansari a businessman from Saudi Arabia, Waleed Al Ghanim a businessman from Kuwait , Khalid Al Saba, Director of Dawa Affairs of IPC , Mohammed Aslam President of Indian Muslim Association and Faisal Majeri President of Kerala Islamic Group were present on the stage. Sharafuddin B.S chief coordinator of Zakir Naik’s Lecture tour in Kuwait conducted the program and rendered the vote thanks. The program started with the recitation of Quran by Ibrahim Abdurraheem.
