Delhi woman accuses husband of forcing her into prostitution

New Delhi, March 2 (IANS): A 35-year-old woman here has alleged that her husband forced her into the sex trade since the last four years, police said on Thursday.

Police said the woman filed a complaint on Wednesday against her husband, alleging that he has forced her into the sex trade. The woman said that she was raped around 70 times by her husband's friends and relatives during the last four years.

"The woman has been married to the accused since 20 years and was staying separately in East Delhi. She alleged that her husband used to charge money from his friends for raping her. We are investigating the facts and allegations in this matter," Deputy Commissioner of Police Omvir Singh told IANS.

Last year, the woman had filed a complaint against her husband for not caring for her or his minor daughter.

"Her husband is at large. A manhunt is on to nab him," Singh said.
