Mangalore: FMMC Hosts OSCE/OSPE Training Programme

Mangalore, Feb 12: A two-day training programme was organized by the department of physiotherapy, Father Muller Medical College (FMMC) in collaboration with Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Bangalore to introduce an objective structured clinical and practical examination (OSCE/OSPE) in the evaluation of the practical examination of the bachelors of physiotherapy curriculum.

The training programme specially designed for the teaching staff, consisted of detailed explanations via lectures and presentations as well as practical demonstrations in the methods to be used for evaluation in a practical examination, stated a press release.

The programme commenced with a short inaugural ceremony presided over by the director Fr Patrick Rodrigues, administrator Fr Denis D’Sa and dean Dr B Sanjeev Rai of Father Muller Medical College and Hospital.
 
Dr Niranjan, director of the curriculum development cell, RGUHS was the chief guest of the function. Dr D K Srinivas, former advisor, RGUHS and Dr Praveen Aaron, chairman, Physiotherapy Board of Studies were the distinguished resource persons for the training programme. Delegates comprised of faculty from various physiotherapy colleges in and around the city. The course coordinator of physiotherapy, FMMC Narasimman S was also present.
