M'lore: All-India Physiotherapy Students' Conference on Feb 7

Mangalore, Feb 3: South Kanara Physiotherapy Teachers Association (SKPTA) will organize the 5th All-India Physiotherapy Students' Conference on Thursday, February 7 at Town Hall here.

Dr Susan Verghese, chairman of the organizing committee informed media persons here on Saturday, February 2 that Dr Ali Irani, president of Indian Association of Physiotherapy (IAP) will inaugurate the conference.

The inaugural ceremony will be presided over by Dr M Ramgopal Shetty, former Syndicate member of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences while the key note address will be delivered by Dr Mary Martin from Canada. The chief guests will be Syed Kirmani, former cricketer, Dr Dee Barlow from Oklahama University, Dr Deepak Kumar, director of CAPRI the Delhi-based institute of Manual Therapy and Dr Pravin Aaron, board of studies of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences.

As part of the conference, there will be a Physio Treasure Hunt on February 3 at Shree Devi College of Physiotherapy, blood donation camp on February 4 at Wenlock Hospital and fruits would be distributed on February 5, she added.

Pre-conference, conference and post-conference will be held on February 6, February 7 and February 8 at Dr MV Shetty College auditorium, at Town Hall and at Alva's College of Physiotherapy respectively, he added.  

Dr UT Ifthikar Ali, convener, Rajesh Kumar, member of organizing secretary and others were present at the press conference.
