Mangalore: Tulu Sahitya Charitre to be Released on Feb 2

Mangalore, Feb 1: Dr D Veerendra Heggade, Dharmadhikari of Shree Kshetra Dharmasthala, will be releasing Tulu Sahitya Charitre (history of Tulu literature) on Saturday February 2 during a function to be held at St Aloysius College IT auditorium here. M Veerappa Moily, chairman of union Administrative Reforms Commission, will inaugurate the programme.

The treatise of 1250 pages replete with in-depth information focusses upon the various aspects of Tulu language and Tulu Nadu culture, stated Pradeep Kumar Kalkura, president of DK district Kannada Sahitya Parishat, at a press conference.

Prof K M Kaveriappa, vice-chancellor of Mangalore University, Dr M Mohan Alva, chairman of Alva's Education Foundation, Harikrishna Punaroor, former president of state Kannada Sahitya Parishat, M K Sitaram Kulal, president of Tulu Sahitya Academy and others will be the chief guests on the occasion.  Prof Dr H C Boralingaiah, acting vice-chancellor of Hampi University will preside over the ceremony, informed Prof Mallepuram G Venkatesh, director of publications, Kannada University.

A V Navada, editor of the treatise, also spoke on the occasion.
