PTI

Mumbai, Jan 8: After conquering the 20,000 mark last year, the Bombay Stock Exchange's sensitive index (Sensex) created yet another milestone just in the beginning of the year itself by crossing the magical figure of 21,000 mark on heavy buying by funds in the early trade on Tuesday.

Scaling a new peak, the sensex spurted 264.88 points to touch 21,077.53 points in the first five minutes of trade.

Similarly, the wide-base National Stock Exchange's Nifty also hit 6327.65 points, up 48.55 points, as most of the index-related shares traded higher.
