Fluminense extend winlesss streak to five matches

Rio de Janeiro, Oct 29 (IANS): Fluminense extended their winless streak in Brazil's Serie A championship to five matches as they were held to a 2-2 draw by Vitoria here.

Former Hertha Berlin and Wolfsburg midfielder Cicero gave the hosts the lead on the stroke of half-time after teammate Richarlison converted a penalty to cancel out Marcelo's opener on Saturday, reports Xinhua.

But midfielder Marinho equalized two minutes from time when he lashed a low shot past goalkeeper Julio Cesar after skilful build up play from Wellington.

The result at the Maracana stadium here left four-time Brazilian top-flight champions Fluminense eighth in the 20-team standings with 48 points from 33 matches.
