Modi compliments RSS on its 91st foundation day

New Delhi, Oct 11 (IANS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday complimented the works of the Rashtriya Swayamsewaka Sangh (RSS) on its 91st foundation day.

"On the 'Sthapana Diwas' of the RSS, my greetings to all swayamsevaks and best wishes in their endeavours to serve our nation," Modi tweeted.

The RSS was launched in September 1925 by Keshav Baliram Hedgewar and its foundation day is celebrated annually on Dussehra day.

    RSS is Rashtreeya Swayam Sevak Sangha. As the name implies, it is a voluntary service organisation.

    They don't want any publicity, money or appreciation. They are the true patriots of the country. They know no religion, caste or creed.

    RSS is the only organization which helps individuals when conditions are not favorable and people are in distress. RSS helps people without asking cast, creed or religion. All its services are free of cost and service renders are volunteers. Its only concern is your well being and rescue to safety.

    Right from bringing the affected people back to India during Partition in 1947, till the recent TN floods RSS has stood tall in all the Disasters. The China War, the Bangladesh War, The Andhra disaster, Latur Earthquake, Gujarat Earthquake, Uttarakhand disaster, Kashmir Floods, Nepal Earthquake and many more such National Calamities, The RSS is there like a wall. It is in the blood and DNA of the RSS swayamsevak to run for the rescue of the fellow citizens while in danger without looking for the cast, ceed, colour, religion and gender. The Moto is JANANI JANMABHUMISCHA SWARGADAPI GARIYASI. THEY DONT NEED ANYBODIES CERTIFICATE.

    Neither the media nor the political parties other than bjp ever appreciate their services.

    Even late PM smt. Indira Gandhi praised RSS once at the time of inauguration of swamy vivekananda statue at kanyakumai. I repeat the exact words she uttered, “but for rss this work would not have been done”.

    Still some people who never bother to help others causes hindrances in its work for their political reasons & let no stone upturned in maligning RSS.

    At least the media or anti RSS political parties stop criticizing or making adverse comments it is more than doing good.

    Do you know ? Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru had invited RSS to participate in 1963 Republic Day parade as the organization helped the Indian civilians and Indian soldiers in the year 1962. Nearly 3500 Swayamsevaks marched in the parade.

    @ The Guru - Sardar Patel and Nehru were friends although their ideas and outlook varied moreover they were members of INC which fought for Indian independence unlike rss who were seen supporting the British.

    Let me also remind you that Godse's brother acknowledged that Nathuram never left rss at all.

    My complements too for RSS on the occasion of Sthapana Diwas.

    Let us remember on this day, the extensive work carried out by RSS to bring social reforms in Hindu society. It's efforts to eradicate caste based differentiation, extensive works in bringing up the living standards in tribal areas, RSS workers' voluntary works during natural calamities, support for the Indian army during times of war and many other social services.

    As per one school of thought there is a mysterious history/role/support of Britishers behind this self proclaimed nationalist organization's origin as to counter/defeat the independence movement.
    Now claiming that they are building nation as if the Hindu nation was not in existence till 1925...,
    Hindustan & Hinduism is standing tall & mighty since ages despite onslaught by Moguls/French & Britishers.
    In my view as a complementary to nation building object, first there is a need for unity among Hindus, In my view before nation building Varna Bedha Neethi should be abolished..., that can be acknowledged only when attack on Dalits & downtrodden are stopped.
    Though my view may be seen as second best, without prejudice, RSS must appoint/find a Dalit to the post of Sar Sangha Chalak to get support for its claim. practice what you preach is paramount.

    The RSS's action is totally contradictory when it comes to nation building.., it is supporting a particular political party which is the front of crony capitalists. The nation building & nationalist/ cultural tag is just to fool Hindustani's to grab votes to support a political party which is publicly claimed by the present Sangh Chalak MB that they send signals to the govt.,
