Mangalore: VHP Stages Agitation against Cow Slaughter

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangalore (KM/RD)

Mangalore, Dec 26 (mb): Bajrang Dal, in association with Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Go Samrakshana Samiti (Cattle Protection Committee), staged an agitation at the entrance of the deputy commissioner's office complex here on Wednesday, December 26, putting forth various demands.

The agitation was staged stressing the withdrawal of the alleged transfer of the sub inspector Pramod Kumar, imposing a ban on cow slaughter and action against other direct and indirect conspiracies against the Hindus.

The agitation is not against any particular religion, but against cow slaughter. The cow slaughter goes on unabated in the city and surrounding areas, and the authorities concerned are reluctant to curb this undesirable activity, which may lead to more agitations, Sudarshan Moodbidri of Cattle Protection Committee cautioned.

The BC Road incident is condemnable, if anyone attempts to behead any activist of pro-Hindu organization as threatened, then VHP or associate outfits will not be held accountable for taking strict action to protect its activists. Such developments should not be encouraged at any cost, otherwise the pro-Hindu organizations would launch more agitations, he added.

The greed for power of the politicians is a contributing factor that was encouraging the miscreants to continue the cow slaughter at larger scale, Bayadi Venkataramana Bhat of VHP said on the occasion.

The memorandum was submitted to the DC in the presence of leaders of various pro-Hindu organizations.
