Kejriwal 'salutes' Modi for surgical strikes

New Delhi, Oct 3 (PTI): In a rare gesture, Delhi Chief Arvind Kejriwal today "saluted" Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the surgical strikes by the Army on terror launch pads across the LoC and urged the Centre to counter Pakistan's smear campaign on international stage.

Kejriwal, who is often at loggerheads with the Centre, said he may have differences with the Prime Minister over several issues, but by undertaking the surgical strikes, Modi has shown the will to deal with Pakistan.

"Last week our army showed valour and avenged the deaths of 19 soldiers killed in the Uri attack. I may have differences with the Prime Minister over a 100 issues. But when he has shown the will (to deal with this matter), I salute him," he said.

This is perhaps the first time that Kejriwal, who has been critical about the Modi government and its Pakistan policy, has come out praising him. On the day of the strikes, the Delhi Chief Minister had hailed the army, but there was no word of praise for Modi.
A day later, he had told the Delhi Assembly that is time to stand with the Centre and the differences between them can be sorted out later.

Claiming that Pakistan has gone "berserk" after the strike, Kejriwal said, it is resorting to smear campaign against India at international fora and this has to be countered.

"It has resorted to playing dirty politics. Since the last two days, Pakistan is taking international journalists to the border and trying to show that surgical strikes never took place.

"Two days back, the United Nations gave a statement that there was no such activity on the border," he said.

"My blood boiled over these news reports (of the international media). Pakistan is indulging in smearing India's image at the international level.

The UN Military Observer Group in India and Pakistan (UNMOGIP) "has not directly observed" any firing along the LoC, UN chief Ban Ki-moon's spokesperson Stephane Dujarric had said on September 30 against the backdrop of the surgical strikes conducted by India.

"I appeal to the Prime Minister that the way he and the Army taught Pakistan a lesson on ground, he should also unmask the propaganda by Pakistan at international level. The whole country is with you. I also appeal to the countrymen not to believe in the false campaign by Pakistan," he said.

Don't blindly believe what pro Modi media says. With full respect to one of most capable army still have doubt about surgical strike. How far Army penetrated and did they used chopper. Is it possible to air or get into enemy territory as par at 7 different places at a same time and returning without a scratch.I saw one video of Pak army taking to LOC where so called surgical strike taken place and challenging foreign media to show any point on map on that location pak army will take them over there with chopper.
Why don't our government show same courage and show some evidence of surgical strike.

Coming down heavily on the perpetrators of violence on dalits, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, "If you want to attack, attack me, not dalits. If you want to shoot, shoot me".

When it comes to 'Nakli Gou rakshaks' Modi express helplessness.

Why AAP and CM Kejriwal will not question PM Modi, which is more important for the internal security of the nation and unity of the country?

Sri Kejriwal, you may have applauded Modi for surgical strikes against Pak terror camps, but India salutes you for your sincere and honest attitude towards a genuine cause irrespective of party or politics. It shows that you are confidant of your party and its success, unlike BJP always jittery about AAP and indulge in smear campaign against AAP. I can confidently say BJP wouldn't have done what Sri Arvind Kejriwal did, instead diluted all AAP efforts.

This is the spirit. We may disagree with others but when it comes to the national security, we should remain as one irrespective of our different religions, regions etc.
When Smt. Sushma Swaraj spoke in the UN, we felt elated as she spoke so boldly exposing the lies of Pakistan.
Someone has started a campaign against Chinese goods. If all the citizens cooperate, we can bring China on its knees as India is the biggest importer of Chinese goods.

    1. International media has not confirmed surgical strikes by India.
    2. UN monitoring Body has said it did not observe surgical strikes on the said day.
    3. Pakistan takes the international journalists to LOC to show no harm is done.
Before the world could believe Pakistan, Modi should provide immediate proof to show PAK is lying.

Dead terrorists were hurriedly buried. Only terrorist camps which are makeshift fabricated structures were destroyed. Entire area could be easily cleared of all debris. Surgery was done with all precision. There was no damage done to military or civilian installations. No civilian casualties. All evidence was destroyed within no time. International media was taken to the site after 3 days and Pak media is dictated by the Army and ISI. Angry reactions from Pak politicians clearly indicate what has happened.
