Farooq Ahmad Bhat, senior meteorologist told IANS, "A moderate intensity earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale occurred in Kashmir at 1.34 p.m., on Saturday."

"The epicentre of the tremor was in Jammu and Kashmir region near the India-Pakistan border and the depth of the tremor was 10 km."
