Uri Brigade Commander 'side stepped'


New Delhi, Oct 1 (IANS): The Brigade Commander of the Uri based army brigade has been "side stepped" by the army for fair, comprehensive and objective inquiry, sources said.

"The Brigade Commander has been "side stepped" for fair, comprehensive and objective inquiry,' an Army source told IANS.

Army sources said that this was a part of the protocol of inquiry.

Action against the army officer comes in the wake of the terror attack on the army camp in the Uri city of Jammu and Kashmir on Septmber 18, in which 17 soldiers were martyred.

Subsequently two more soldiers succumbed to injuries during treatment.
