Clinton teams up with hip hop artist for voter registration

Washington, Sep 29 (IANS): Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton has teamed up with American hip hop artist Pusha T for a voter registration drive aimed at motivating people to cast ballots in the November 8 election, a media report said.

One person who registers to vote via Clinton's website would get the chance to meet the hip hop artist backstage, with travel and accommodation covered, the Guardian reported on Thursday.

Pusha T came to prominence as half of Clipse, the Virginia siblings who built a career on rapping about dealing cocaine.

According to reports, Pusha T has been a vocal supporter of the Democratic presidential nominee.

In July, he launched a pro-Clinton T-shirt design that read "Delete Your Account", a reference to her famous social media attack directed at her Republican rival Donald Trump.

Pusha T said in an interview that Clinton was not familiar with his music, but she did express her appreciation for his support.

Clinton's electoral strategy has involved maximising the potential vote in the African-American and Hispanic communities, and she has been reaching out to them via music.
