Pakistan accuses Modi of 'well thought out vilification campaign'

Islamabad, Sep 25 (PTI) : Pakistan today rejected Prime Minister Narendra Modi's assertion that it was exporting terror, saying the remarks were part of a "well thought out vilification campaign" to distract attention from Kashmir.

Pakistan Foreign Office, in a statement, said Prime Minister Modi in a public meeting in Kerala "tried to malign Pakistan".

"It is unfortunate that Indian leadership continues to indulge in a well thought out vilification campaign against Pakistan by making provocative statements and baseless accusations. Such irresponsible display of behaviour at the highest political level is regrettable," the Foreign Office said.

"It is evident that, as an act of desperation, India is trying to distract world attention from the atrocities perpetrated" by its forces in Kashmir against "innocent and defenseless" Kashmiris, including children and women, the statement said.

The "atrocities" in Kashmir intensified since the "extra-judicial killing of Kashmiri youth leader" Burhan Muzaffar Wani in July this year, it said of the slain Hizbul Mujahideen commander.

Pakistan's reaction came after Prime Minister Modi launched a blistering attack on it yesterday in his first public address after last Sunday's deadly Uri terror attack.

Modi said the sacrifice of 18 soldiers will not go in vain while all out efforts will be made to isolate Pakistan globally.

"Terrorists should hear out clearly that India will never forget the Uri attack...I want to tell the leadership of Pakistan that the sacrifice of our 18 jawans will not go in vain," Modi told a public meeting on the Kozhikode beach held on the sidelines of the BJP national council meet.

He said while countries in Asia are working to make the 21st century Asia's, Pakistan is engaged in a conspiracy of causing bloodshed across the continent by sponsoring terrorism and killing innocents.

The Pakistan Foreign Office statement alleged, "In the last seventy-five days, Indian occupation forces have brutally martyred more than 100 Kashmiris, blinded hundreds and injured thousands."

The Foreign Office claimed that the international community has taken notice of these "blatant human rights violations" with concerns expressed by several countries as well as UN and Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

It also accused India of continuing to sponsor terrorism in Pakistan through state apparatus.

"The arrest and confession statements of a serving Indian Navy officer and intelligence operative, Kulbhushan Jadhav, reveal beyond a shadow of doubt as to how India fuels terrorist activities in various parts of Pakistan, including Balochistan and FATA (Federally Administered Tribal Areas)," the statement said.

"Tried to malign Pakistan". You deserve that
    This is just the beginning.
Aage aage dekho kya hota hai.
Wait for Susma Swaraj at UNGA will do rest of job.

I am wondering instead of sending Foreign Minister, why Mr. Modi did not attend personally and addressed UNGA.
He is still busy convincing Indians within India.

I am not a fan of Modi. But I thought that at least he would have the guts to order attacks inside Pak territory, mind you, in retaliation for their attacks on Indian soil. Congress failed. BJP yapped. Still not guts! And you expect respect from Pathans?

All this happens whenever BJP is in power!. Vajapayee went to Lahore in bus and Kargil happened!. Modi dived into Pakistan uninvited and this happened!. What these BJPeee's thinking by doing all this!?. Congress was much better and mature in handling Pakistan. Because of BJPeee's attitude, even Russia is leaning towards Pakistan and that's definitely a worry!!!. Something wrong with BJP in its handling of internal and external issues.

@john- in 2008 you had golden opportunity. But you fed biriyani to kasab. Instead you should have d war. You should feel ashamed to criticize bjp now.

I was aware that your congress party had no battery to win war. Instead they are into corruption and make more money. Big shame 😈

India need to handle this issue diplomatically rather then war, because if our neighbors are stable then only we can live peacefully, specially Pakistan is a nuclear power state, after war anything can happen, nuclear might go to wrong hands. As they have hundreds of terror groups. Just imagine Iraq after Saddam.

@rohith- if there is nobody to rule then India has to administer that country.
I think even if wait for another century things will not improve. Instead we are giving our precious time for enemies to get stronger. In the meanwhile Pakistan itself may exercise military options to gain control over Panjab and Kashmir. Did you get my point?

Modi is like two edged sword.
On the one hand trying to be diplomatic in his approach to gain maximum benefit with minimum risk and if failed, unleashes fire in the form of speeches un paralleled.

India is not afraid of Pak Nuclear Bombs..but definitely worried about Italian lady supporters and medias who indirectly support Pakistan (willingly or unwillingly) with their immatured comments and actions.

Two days back,I saw Asianet reporter Mr.Prashams visiting Kashmiri Terrorist Burhan Wani's house and meeting all his family members and consoling..He is worried about stone pelting Youths who were injured by Army Jawans. He visited hospital and consoled them too..This stupid man did not visit any Martyrs families house till today..When our own people are doing against our Country just to attack PM, how can you expect Pak to keep quiet ?

    Jaimini,

Do you remember a fellow-state-origin man arrested after Pathankot attack ? Was he a Congress supporter ? Why I should not brand you since you too share the same native origin as he does ? Do you know Madhuri Gupta ? Was she a Congress supporter ?

Are you wondering why I am mentioning these two ? Well, I do have reason - they both spied for Pakistan.

Therefore, do not think Congress supporters are betrayers just because they are not in the party that you support ! Nobody here says BJP is a betrayer but are highlighting Modi's tactics to fool the entire nation by slyly going to the birthday party of his friend on the other side of the fence.

What isolation you are talking about Modiji. The more you speak, china,Russia all are coming in support of Pakistan. They are getting jets.Again anything your govt have to do ,then please do it on back desk.We need to be alert aNd think twice when we speak. The problem is we are not good with any one of our neighbors.
First step we need to gain the trust of Kashmiris.Make our border states strong.Modi n team must work out on this rapidly.

Nawaz Sharief is not in control....Pak Army is in control...giving saree, attending his birthday party is useless as Modi realized now...

Pak army needs a strong kick on its backside ...like 1971...with their atomic weapons equation is little different now...

We need to have electronic warfare assets to jam their atomic assets before attacking them....or take a risk and attack their atomic facilities first and take a substantial risk...

China helping Pak, is nothing new...in that way US and west will help India too...

If we could do something similar to what Pakis did in Kashmir, through our assets in Afghanistan....perhaps cost will be very less...send Ajit Doval to Kabul,he knows what to do....
