Trains cancelled for three more days as AP rains damage tracks


Hyderabad, Sep 25 (IANS): The railways have cancelled several trains for three more days due to the damage to tracks in Andhra Pradesh's Guntur district following heavy rains last week. officials said here on Sunday.

As the damaged tracks on Nadikude-Guntur section are yet to be restored, the South Central Railway (SCR) decided to either cancel or divert all trains passing through this section over the next three days till September 27.

The SCR cancelled 20 trains, including 12 Express trains originating from or reaching Hyderabad, Secunderabad and Kachiguda railway stations here through Sattenapalli-Piduguralla section.

While 16 trains were cancelled fully, four others were cancelled partially. The authorities also diverted 27 trains.

The SCR said the trains were cancelled or diverted due to breaches on Sattenapalli-Piduguralla section of Guntur division.

The cancelled trains include Vijayawada-Secunderabad Intercity Express, Secunderabad-Vijayawada Intercity Express, Guntur-Vikarabad Palnadu Express, Vikarabad-Guntur Palnadu Express, Secunderabad-Vijayawada special train, Vijayawada-Secunderabad special train, Miryalaguda-Piduguralla Passenger, Piduguralla-Miryalaguda passenger, Kacheguda-Guntur Double Decker Express, Guntur-Kacheguda Double Decker Express, Macherla-Bhimavaram Passenger, Guntur-Macherla Passenger, Macherla-Nadikudi Passenger, Nadikudi-Macherla Passenger, Macherla-Guntur Passenger and AGuntur-Macherla Passenger.

Kacheguda-Repalle Delta Fast Passenger is partially cancelled between Kacheguda-Guntur. Repalle-Secunderabad Delta Fast Passenger is partially cancelled between Guntur-Secunderabad.

Similarly Secunderabad-Repalle passenger is partially cancelled between Secunderabad-Guntur while Repalle-Secunderabad passenger is partially cancelled between Guntur-Secunderabad.
