Sushma Swaraj to address UNGA; strong response to Pak expected

New York, Sep 25 (PTI): External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj is set to address the UN General Assembly tomorrow with all eyes set on her speech in which she is expected to deliver a stinging response to Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's "tirade" on Kashmir.

Swaraj arrived here yesterday afternoon and will address the UN general debate tomorrow morning.

"Leading India's delegation to the 71st UNGA. EAM @SushmaSwaraj arrives in New York," Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson Vikas Swarup tweeted.

Swaraj is expected to give a stinging response to Sharif's UN General Assembly (UNGA) speech, in which he had focused elaborately on Kashmir.

India's strong Right of Reply to his speech called Pakistan home to the "Ivy League of Terrorism" and a "terrorist state" that commits "war crimes" by using terrorism as an instrument of state policy.

Outlining India's focus for the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) session, India's envoy to the UN Syed Akbaruddin had said that terrorism is the "primary concern" for India as well as for nations across the world.

He listed reform of the UN Security Council, sustainable development, climate change and peacekeeping as other priorities for India in the current UNGA session.

Swarup told reporters here Friday that "the whole world and the entire nation" is waiting to hear from Swaraj who will deliver India's "vision document" for the 71st UNGA. "We are all looking forward to that," he had said.

He, however had not elaborated on elements of Swaraj's address but said "the whole world and the entire country is waiting to hear what the External Affairs Minister has to say but I think the broad themes that Akbaruddin has outlined are definitely going to be a part of our presentation at this most important forum in the international community".

Swarup said one can also expect "a continued focus from India on the theme of terrorism which is today undoubtedly the single biggest challenge to international peace and security".

Exercising the Right of Reply to Sharif's "long tirade" about the situation in Kashmir, First Secretary in the Permanent Mission of India to the UN Eenam Gambhir had said, "the worst violation of human rights is terrorism".

"When practiced as an instrument of state policy it is a war crime. What my country and our other neighbours are facing today is Pakistan's long-standing policy of sponsoring terrorism, the consequences of which have spread well beyond our region," she said.

She had said India sees in Pakistan "a terrorist state" which channelises billions of dollars, much of it diverted from international aid, to training, financing and supporting terror groups as militant proxies against it neighbours.

Can you remember the elders saying or proverb that expresses a truth based on commonsense or experience.
    It goes somewhat like:
“ We can at least trust known robber but not a stranger (acting like a friend) “
Traitors are traitors and should be condemned to any extent but China and Pak will never be our friends, they are treacherous. We should distant from them. They act like friend and back stab us.
Mr. Modi tried his best to mend them but it's of no use.

Suggest you also stop watching Rahul Shivshankar of News X who is another Arnab type anchor.
There you also have barking but because of the nasal voice it sounds more like the sound of a goat.

    What are talking about?

In the name or pretext of comments, please do not utter such words.
You cannot rule out that there are few traitors within the country but not the extent you have lowered yourself.
When Ramya praised peoples hospitality there were controversies and when you indirectly praise our enemies that shows how matured you are.
Keep the traitors one side but never ever use such words.

India's Diplomatic attack without firing a single bullet against Pakistan yielded good response so far..Out of 131 countries,130 Countries voted against Pak PM's Kashmir issue..Interestingly,European Union gave warning to Pakistan if they continue torturing Baluchistanis..They may face sanctions too..That is the latest development in favour of India..Belive it or not Pakistan's main News Paper DAWN mentioned " Sharief failed in Kashmir issue at UNGA because of URI attack"..

I feel there is NO Pakistan right now..Pak is in the hands of China..Pak is only an ACTOR..Master is behind the scene..that is why India hesitate to attack Pak..China invested so much in Pakistan that if India attacks, definitely it will help Pak.India can't fight Pak and China together at this stage..So putting pressure on Pakistan through UN is the right way..Mr Modi knows it very well..

Pathankot and Uri attack has shown the difference between Congress and BJP. Today if Manmohan Singh would have been the Prime minister Modi would have screwed his happiness by attacking him by calling him a weak PM blah blah blah. But did Manmohan Singh or Sonia Gandhi did any Politics in these terrorist attack. Instead Sonia Gandhi Supported the government. Kashmir is boiling since 80 days, did Sonia Gandhi played any politics. This is the real difference between Modi and Sonia….Modi is to talk big before elections now he is requesting the Pakistani people to teach a lesson to their govt…. Russia was our very good friend, Modi Screwed it by getting closer to US…US is big opportunist can change colours anytime…. Modi portrayed Rahul has a Joker, Pappu etc etc….Today Modi has become a Joke to the whole world…

Do you think that if we attack to the pakistan, china will sit silent ? China already backed pakistan in case of any foreign aggression.

Do you think that we can handle china alone ?

Answer is Big NO. because of your favorite chor party.

They not purchased weapons which are army's urgent requirements.

We need at least 44 squadrons fighter jets for to handle both china and pakistan. Sadly to say it decreased to 32 squadrons. why your party not purchased earlier ?

He will surely take action against that country... He is not like your puppet chor party PM
