Punjab CM offers prayers at Patna Sahib gurdwara


Patna, Sep 22 (IANS): Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal on Thursday offered prayers at Takht Sri Harmandir Sahib, the birthplace of 10th Sikh master Guru Gobind Singh.

Badal, who arrived here to attend the first three-day international Sikh conclave, visited the gurdwara and offered prayers.

"Badal will also address the conclave as a guest of honour after its inauguration by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar," state Tourism Department officials said.

Over 150 Sikh luminaries from all walks of life from India and abroad are likely to participate in the conclave from September 22.

Earlier, Nitish Kumar said his government is organising this conclave in connection with the 350th birth anniversary celebrations of Guru Gobind Singh in Patna Sahib.

After the inaugural function, a panel discussion on various topics will be held on Friday and Saturday.
