Former RJD MP Shahabuddin released after 11 years

Sep 10 (Agencies): RJD strongman and former MP from Siwan, Mohammad Shahabuddin released from Bhagalpur jail after 11-years of imprisonment.

Hundreds of supporters flocked to the jail gate to welcome Shahabuddin in the early morning. He left the jail along with caravan of around 600 vehicles. “Everyone knows I was falsely implicated in case sand sent to jail”, Shahabuddin said. “Lalu Prasad is always my leader. Nitish Kumar is a situational chief minister”, he added.

He also dismissed BJP leader Sushil Modi’s allegation that the state government facilitated his release.

Shahabuddin was granted bail by the Patna high court on Wednesday in connection with the murder of a witness in the killing of two brothers in Siwan by bathing them in acid.
