Aug 25: Hyundai Elantra of the sixth generation is now available in variants of nine with new inclusion of engine in petrol and diesel variant remains same with updated version of its predecessor. It is an upgrade in the automobile market. The base variant of petrol and the top diesel variant have been priced at Rs 12.99 lakh and at Rs 19.99 lakh respectively.

Hyundai’s new design language, fluidic sculpture 2.0 has been launched in the new Elantra. To achieve the highly desired modern look, the body lines of the car have been tweaked to making it sharper and crisper. Catchy hexagonal shaped grille added to horizontal slats flanked by sleek HID headlamps has been incorporated in the design. Other important inclusions have been the LED abbreviated for daytime running lights or (DRLs), 16 inch alloy wheels with gun metal finish and wide LED tall lights.

The Sedan variant has larger in terms of its length and width. Black interiors are a feature that consumers have their eyes on. Other features include infotainment system of 8 inch touchscreen, USB enabled. It also has AUX-in and Bluetooth. Apple CarPlay, another interesting feature is a feature. Not to forget theAndroid Auto feature and leather upholstery coupled with dual zone climate controlled electric seats that has front ventilation. Some other features are steering which have mounted controls and smart key that has push button start together with safety escort.

The petrol variant with 1999 cc motor is a fresh inclusion in the line of variants. It has the capacity to produce power of 152PS and torque of 192Nm. The variant of Diesel however is the old variant with 1582cc but modified further to give power equivalent to 128PS and peak torque of 260Nm. 6 speeds manual and 6 speed automatic gearboxes have been included in both the variants.

Some of the brands to which the new Hyundai Elantra can give a tough competition are Cruze of Chevrolet, Corolla Altis of the Toyota, Jetta of the Volkswagen and reputed name like the Skoda Octavia.
