Mangalore: Suratkal Returns to Normalcy - 3 Arrested

Mangalore, Dec 7: After a couple of days of violence Suratkal returned to normalcy as no incidents of violence were reported on 'Black Day', Thursday December 6.  Meanwhile the police have initiated process on arrest the accused who were responsible for violence.

The police have already arrested Lokesh Suvarna (27) of Shediguri, Damodar alias Dayanand alias Dandu (23), a resident of Water Bank near Thokur and VIshwanath (24) of Kulai-Dota.  They have been accused of assaulting one Hamza (22), a resident of Jokatte at Kulai-Shediguri on Wednesday December 5.

Among the injured in the violence, Hamza is still in the hospital in the city.  He is out of danger now.  Though no incidents of violence were reported on Thursday, Section 144 will continue on Friday December 7 too, said police sources.

Tight security has been deployed in the area which once was known to be sensitive area.  A total of 3 DySPs, 4 inspectors, 4 sub-inspectors are deployed along with KSRPC police.

Meanwhile in an interesting move the administration has transferred Bharathi who was recently appointed as SI to crime branch of Suratkal.  She has been transferred to Mangalore rural station.  Shivkumar who was serving in Puttur town station has already taken charge of Suratkal police station.
