Mangalore: Abducted Abdul Razak Rescued - 3 Nabbed

Mangalore, Dec 5: The Dakshina Kannada police have arrested 3 persons who had abducted one Abdul Razak and had demanded a ransom of Rs 5 crore for his release on Wednesday December 5.

The arrested have been identified as Vinay Kumar (26), son of the late Mohan, resident of Ramanathpur town, Arakalagudu, in Hassan district, Prakash (27), son of B Ganapati, resident of near Kumbhashi in Kundapur taluk and Vighnesh (21), son of the late Erappa, resident of Dasa Gowda street, Kote, Holenarasipura, Kasaba, in Hassan district.

The accused had kidnapped Abdul Razaq (40), son of Cheku Haji, resident of Panjila House, Kaccheripady, Mallapuram district, Kerala state.  They were nabbed by DK police on the orders of SP Satheesh Kumar and ASP, Lokesh Kumar.  The operation was carried out by DCIB police inspector A D Nagaraj. 

It was known during the interrogation that Abdul Razak, after being abducted was kept under house arrest in Karnataka.  It was also known later that the abductors were from Udupi and Hassan districts.  Accordingly, the Kerala police had requested the state police to assist them in the operation.

 The other accused, Rakesh alias Altaf of S Kodi Mulky, Harish Tholar from Amavasebail, Kundapur, Vinoo Madikeri, Laxman of Bhandaribettu in Bantwal, Sandeep Shaktinagar, Hyder Mulky are absconding.  The police also have seized a Tata Sumo vehicle which was used for kidanapping along with a revolver toy and an air pistol. Umesh who is working in a coffee estate in Chikmagalur, Babu from Kerala, Dinesh, driver of Tavera 4WD which too was used for kidapping Abdul too are still at large.  The arrested have been handed over to Vengere police in Malapuram district of Kerala.
