CPI-M condemns targeting of AAP MLAs

New Delhi, July 28 (IANS): The CPI-M has condemned the recurring arrests of AAP legislators in Delhi and accused the central government of trying to undermine Delhi's elected government.

The Delhi State Committee of the Communist Party of India-Marxist alleged that the Narendra Modi government was "hell bent on undermining the elected Delhi government.

"This situation highlights the need to make Delhi a full-fledged state with the state government being in charge of both police and land," it said.

Police have arrested 10 MLAs of the Aam Aadmi Party in Delhi. AAP leaders say more arrests are in the offing. The AAP has accused the central government of vendetta politics.
