Mumbai, Nov 6: Diwali is the time to wish your near and dear ones and treat people with delicious sweets. But what do you do if your family and friends are not residing in the same city as you are? You don’t have to worry about this anymore as there are number of websites that promise to bail you out.

Just run a search on Google and you will find many solutions to your problem. For instance, there is www.saraindia.com that takes orders exclusively for gifts to be delivered in Hyderabad and other select cities of Andhra Pradesh.

Another website www.deccansojourn.com also takes orders to deliver sweets like kaju barfis, assorted mithais, dry fruits, mysore pak and the like to places all over India.

And the website states that it will be giving a complimentary pair of diyas with each delivery. Nerul resident Anita Kumar says that most websites charge a great deal for their services but at times they are worth it and one cannot do without them. “My in-laws stay in Chennai and they make it a point to be with us every year during Diwali.

This year, however, they wouldn’t come because of personal reasons,” says Kumar adding that she wants to surprise them, nevertheless.

“I can courier them regular gifts like clothes or showpieces but there is no fun in that,” says Kumar who intends to call up a service agency to deliver a bunch of fresh roses and traditional sweets to her in-laws doorstep on the eve of Diwali.

“They will charge me double the cost of the sweets I choose to present to my in-laws, but then no other materialistic gift can replace a box of sweets and fresh roses,” says Kumar.
