Mexican footballer kidnapped in home town


Nuevo Laredo (Mexico), May 30 (IANS): Greek football club Olympiakos striker Alan Pulido has been kidnapped in Mexico, local law enforcement officials have said.

Family members told authorities that six armed men snatched the Mexican footballer around dawn in his hometown of Ciudad Victoria, in northeastern Mexico on Sunday, reports Xinhua.

State prosecutor Ismael Quintanilla said Pulido, 25, disappeared after returning from a party and his location has not been found yet.

Officials said military and police forces were searching for Pulido in the state of Tamaulipas, which shares a border with the United States.
