Health ministry team to probe Rajasthan children's deaths


New Delhi, May 1 (IANS): The Ministry of Health has sent a team to assist the Rajasthan government in investigating the death of 12 specially abled people, including children, due to water and food contamination at a state-run home care in Jamdoli.

The five-member team i has a senior paediatrician, epidemiologist and a microbiologist and was scheduled to reach Jaipur on Sunday.

"The team will investigate the causes that led to the incident and also suggest public health measures to prevent such incidents in the future," union Health Minister J.P. Nadda tweeted.

Nadda spoke to Rajasthan Health Minister Rajendra Rathore who apprised him of necessary measures taken to prevent recurrence of such incidents. A detailed report on the incident has been sought.
