Man shows black flag to Kanhaiya, beaten up by his supporters in Patna

Patna, May 1 (HT): There was ruckus during Kanhaiya Kumar’s speech in Patna on Sunday after man was beaten up by the JNU student’s union president’s supporters for waving a black flag at him.

The police have detained two men for protesting during Kumar’s speech, ANI reported.

Kumar was addressing a meeting in Patna with ‘Azadi’ being the dominant theme.

Kumar, who hails from Begusarai district of Bihar , is on a two-day tour of his home state and met both Nitish Kumar and RJD president Lalu Prasad Yadav over the weekend.

Upon his arrival in Patna on Saturday, Kanhaiya told reporters: “I am not here to attend a political meeting. I am here to reach out to people with my thoughts. People of Bihar will understand what I want and where I stand.”

Kumar was arrested on the charge of sedition in February in connection with an event at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) campus commemorating the hanging of Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru. It was alleged that “anti-national” slogans were raised during that event by Kanhaiya and other participants.

The Delhi High Court in March granted him interim bail for six months on the condition that the students’ leader would not participate actively or passively in any activity “which may be termed anti-national”.

On Monday, the JNU authorities imposed a fine of Rs10,000 on Kanhaiya Kumar and rusticated three other students for taking part in the February event.

Kanhaiya and 19 other JNU students have since been agitating against the punishment handed out to them by the university.

On Thursday, the Delhi High Court heard a plea seeking cancellation of interim bail granted to Kanhaiya Kumar on the ground that his speech after his release from Tihar Jail in March was “anti-national” and he violated the bail conditions.

So it is ok for KK's supporters to smash up any protestor who waves a black flag, but complained when one person tried to hit him. Just imagine, how much the common man want to smash him up now? Next time anyone gets an opportunity, please do not show any mercy, give him his due.

    All underhand tactics.
All from behind the scene monitored actions.
Why they are so scared of one student and trying to punish him for the blunder they had made themselves?

When his supports were attacked for anti-India slogans, he said it was intolerance.

Today his supports attack a man for showing flag flag.

Now who is intolerant? Kanhaiya should answer this!
