Mumbai, Oct 14: Dr K R Shetty, managing director of Cumbala Hill Hospital and Cardiology, inaugurated the newly-built ‘Bunts Centre’, near Gaondevi Chowk, Jaya Nagar (West), Navi Mumbai by Mumbai Bunts Association, by unveiling the flak, on Sunday October 14.
Bunts are the achievers who have the lineage of farming community. The significant character of them has been that they all are leaders while none of them are followers. They landed in Mumbai when the circumstances back in their native places forced them to migrate. Few of them pursued studies by attending night schools, since they were deprived of education, besides they continued their traditional restaurant business. As a result, they could afford education to their second generation. Bunts are world re known hoteliers who have contributed greatly for the development of Undivided Dakshina Kannada district. Bunts are inborn with great trait of achieving, said Jaya K Shetty, in his presidential address, during the stage programme held at the newly built Sumalatha Sadanand Auditorium.
Sri Veeranjaneya Swami of Sri Datta Matha and Sri Guru Devanand Swami of Sri Kshetra Odiyoor graced the occasion and blessed the devotees.
Maharastra state medical education minister Suresh Shetty, inaugurated ‘Rekha Divakar Shetty Hall. Thunga Group of Hotels CMD Sudhakar S Hegde inaugurated ‘Bunts Centre’. All Cargo Global Logistics Ltd CMD Shashikiran Shetty inaugurated ‘Soumya Latha Sadanand Shetty Auditorium. Regency Group of Hotels and Industries CMD inaugurated ‘Ratnamma Jagannath Shetty Hall, by cutting the ribbons.

Various ritualistic celebrations were performed for the success of future endeavours of Bunts Association. Yakshagana episode, ‘Kamsa Vadhe’ and entertainment events were held.
