Bangalore, Sep 29: For the first time in the history of Indian cricket, a disaster management team has been stationed at the stadium as India face Australia in the first One-Day International of the seven-match series here on Saturday.

The Bangalore urban district administration, under the guidance of the National Disaster Management Authority, decided to set up an Incident Command Post (ICP) at the Chinnaswamy Stadium to meet any emergency instantly.

The disaster management team, involving 14 civic and security departments, is monitoring the ground from 9 a.m. till the event winds up.

As part of the exercise, the district administration has made arrangements for 10 beds for first aid, 10 doctors to attend on the spot, 15 paramedical staff and 10 ambulances at the venue.

In addition, about 200 beds have been reserved at 10 hospitals across the city.
