Mangalore Sep 26: The JD(S) released its manifesto for the Urban Civic Bodies here on Tuesday September 25.

Referring to the development works undertaken by the government JD(S) declared that it is hopeful of a victory for 35 of its candidates in the MCC elections to be held on September 28.

Speaking to reporters after releasing the manifesto Abdul Azeem, JD(S) leader and MLC informed that the party will not forge an alliance with any party. According to him the party is confident of winning due to the works undertaken by the government led by CM Kumaraswamy. Moreover, the party manifesto gives more importance to providing clean drinking water and therefore stated that the government had sanctioned money for the Thumbe vented dam to ensure sufficient water supply to the city, he averred.

The JD (S) manifesto gives details at length on the projects that Mangalore city requires to get done through the MCC, namely improvement in water and drainage systems, roads, street lights and solid waste management. The manifesto also promises various civic works including beautification of the city. 

Senior party leader K Subbiah Shetty releasing the manifesto declared that their party is going to do well in the coming elections. Quoting audit reports, he stated that there were large scale discrepancies in the projects undertaken by the MCC. HMS president of the district Suresh Shetty and others were present on the occasion.
