Mangalore, Sep 26: Three persons have been arrested by the Pandeshwar police on charges of providing forged marks card of Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) and Pre University University Certificate (PUC) here recently.

According to the police, the arrested have been identified as Vasanth Kumar (28) Mahammed Irshad (35) and Abdul Lathief (40) all residents of Pandeshwar. The police were armed with factual information provided by sources, that the culprits were providing fraud documents for the getting their passports at Nehar Maidan near goods tempo parking.  Pandeshwar police inspector Venktesh Prasanna along with the Crime Division Sub inspector Johns Kiran D’ Souza and others raided the spot and arrested the the offenders. At the raid site, police recovered few certificates and few forged stamps of schools.

As per present rules those who wished to go to visit a foreign country for work or any other purpose its mandatory to have an SSLC certificate. However, one finds that persons who don’t have the said certificates and who want it desperately are willing to pay any amount for the said certificate.  The offenders knew about this demand and therefore were providing the forged documents at the cost of Rs 7,000.

Police here suspect that with these fraudulent certificates there may be several people, who might have gone abroad. According to the police, the alleged offenders have been produced in court.
