Bangladesh U-19 spinner Saha reported for illegal action

Chittagong, Jan 30 (IANS): Bangladesh youth team's off-spinner Sanjit Saha has been reported for suspected bowling action against South Africa in the opening match of the Under-19 World Cup.

With the 43-run victory over the reigning champions still fresh in their mind, the news was a bolt from the blue for Bangladesh colts. The umpires of the match formally lodged the complaint after the game ended at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium here, reports bdnews24.com.

The 18-year-old went wicketless giving away 30 runs in eight overs against the Proteas.

He will undergo a test within the next two weeks at an ICC-approved laboratory. However, he will be able to keep bowling until the result is out, as per the rules.

Bangladesh take on Scotland in the second Group A match in Cox's Bazar on Sunday.
